What it is
Regional pain associated with muscles and surrounding tissues, often with tenderness and reduced tolerance. Tender points alone should not be treated as proof of cause.

- Local or referred pain from a muscular region
- Pressure sensitivity and stiffness
- Pain with prolonged use or repeated loading

Persistent Pain
When is medical reassessment needed?
New or progressive pain with fever, unexplained weight loss, a history of cancer, fracture risk after trauma, neurological weakness, saddle numbness, bladder or bowel change, or loss of balance requires prompt or emergency assessment according to the symptoms.
