What it is
Traumatic or degenerative injury to structures that stabilise and cushion the ulnar wrist and distal radioulnar joint.
Typical clinical symptoms
- Ulnar-sided wrist pain
- Clicking or catching during forearm rotation
- Pain with gripping, twisting or weight-bearing through the hand
- Instability or weakness while lifting objects

When is medical assessment needed?
Deformity after trauma, a finger that cannot actively bend or straighten, progressive loss of sensation or strength, a cold or pulseless hand, an open wound, and redness with fever require prompt medical assessment.
