What it is
After removal of damaged meniscal tissue, recovery usually progresses according to swelling, movement, strength and load response.
Typical clinical symptoms
- Swelling and pain after arthroscopy
- Temporary quadriceps weakness
- Pain with squatting, stairs or sporting activity

After Surgery
When should the medical team be contacted?
Fever or wound discharge, wound opening, new one-sided leg swelling, difficulty breathing, chest pain, a cold limb, progressive weakness, deformity or sudden loss of function require immediate contact with the medical team or emergency services.
