What it is
Wound care, movement, sensation and gradual return of grip are managed after nerve release; nerve recovery may take time.
Typical clinical symptoms
- Pain and tenderness around the wound
- Numbness or tingling that may persist temporarily
- Weak grip or fine-motor control

When should the medical team be contacted?
Fever or wound discharge, wound opening, new one-sided leg swelling, difficulty breathing, chest pain, a cold limb, progressive weakness, deformity or sudden loss of function require immediate contact with the medical team or emergency services.
