When considered
- A therapeutic objective defined during assessment
- An area and parameters matched to the tissue and objective
- A plan that includes reassessment of symptoms or movement
Role in the plan
It is not a default treatment for every soft-tissue problem and should not replace progressive movement, exercise or load management.
Before use
- Check sensation, circulation and skin condition
- Avoid restricted anatomical areas and follow device labelling
- Confirm the treatment head, frequency, intensity and duty cycle
- Maintain coupling and appropriate applicator movement
