What it is
The repaired tendon is protected early; passive movement, active movement and strength are introduced according to tear size and surgical guidance.
Typical clinical symptoms
- Pain and disturbed sleep in early phases
- Restricted arm elevation and rotation
- Weakness with lifting or overhead work

When should the medical team be contacted?
Fever or wound discharge, wound opening, new one-sided leg swelling, difficulty breathing, chest pain, a cold limb, progressive weakness, deformity or sudden loss of function require immediate contact with the medical team or emergency services.
